For his Andrew Bird poster, he narrowed in on "Anonanimal," one of his favorite songs on the Chicago songwriter's latest album, "Noble Beasts." He liked that the lyrics play in alliteration and tongue-twisting phrases.
"I loved the nonsense of it. So, I just started thinking what a non-animal was, and the best I could figure was a cut-out of an animal. It led me to an idea of a real thing inside of a fake world," he said.
"I'm not entirely sure that's what the song is about, but I think it does work well in communicating some recurring themes in Bird's music: natural life and the outdoors versus the interior life and falsehoods. More than anything, it just feels right to my gut. It feels like it's in the spirit of his music."
